New Delhi, August 30: North Delhi Strikers Women produced a composed batting performance to defeat Central Delhi Queens Women by six wickets in the women’s leg of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
Chasing 123 for victory, North Delhi Strikers reached the target in 18.4 overs, finishing at 123/4.
Archana anchored the successful chase with an unbeaten 49 off 44 balls, hitting four boundaries.
She received valuable support from Samaira Raghav, who remained unbeaten on 20 off 19 balls to guide her side across the line.
North Delhi Strikers made a brisk start through Shivi Sharma, who struck two boundaries in her 8 off nine balls before being dismissed by Sumiti Soni in the third over.
Captain Ayushi Soni then contributed 22 off 25 balls, including three boundaries, before being stumped by R Priyadarshini off Sumiti Soni.
Nazma added 14 off 10 balls, hitting two boundaries, while wicketkeeper-batter Riya Shokeen was dismissed for three.
However, Archana and Samaira ensured there were no further hiccups as North Delhi Strikers completed a comfortable six-wicket victory.
Earlier, Central Delhi Queens posted 122/7 in their allotted 20 overs after being put under pressure by the North Delhi bowling attack.
Nidhi Mahto top-scored with a patient 49 off 47 balls, striking five boundaries and a six, while Arushi Goel scored 43 off 46 balls with five boundaries.
The pair put together a crucial partnership to steady the innings after Deeksha Sharma was dismissed for two early on.
Monika provided a late boost with an unbeaten 19 off 12 balls, but Central Delhi Queens could only manage 122/7.
For North Delhi Strikers, Nazma was the standout bowler, claiming three wickets for 18 runs from her four overs, while Apeksha Anand picked up two wickets.
Sumiti Soni then returned figures of 2/28 during the chase as North Delhi Strikers completed a convincing win.
